Using the CD Burner Software
Ok, you’ve got the CD burner
installed and everything’s working great. You’re ready to start burning
those CD’s. Well almost. You need to install the burning software
that came with your new CD burner. Two of the most popular burning
software is Nero and Roxi Easy CD Creator. For this tutorial we will
use Nero.
Put the CD that came with your new burner in the CD ROM drive and just follow
the on screen instructions.Now
that the software is installed you should have an icon on your desktop, double
click on it and open the program. Nero has what they call Nero Start Smart
navigation. When the program opens you will see pictures across the top. Move
you mouse over each picture, then look just below the picture to select a function
to perform.
So let’s create a data disk with your vacation pictures. Go ahead and move
your mouse over the picture that looks like a piece of paper. Below that you
will see “Make Data Disk”. Now click on it. A new window will open up, and
you will see an empty box. Off to the right you will see a button that says
“Add”. Click on the add button.
This will open a window called
“Select Files and Folder”. This tutorial assumes you know how to navigate
around in Windows Explorer, if not you will have to learn how before
you can burn files to a CD. Now in the location box at the top, click
on the black down arrow off to the right and navigate to the directory
where your vacation pictures are.
Once you find your vacation pictures, click once on the directory to highlight
it, then click on the add button at the bottom. Once all the files are copied,
click finish. Make sure you have a blank CD in your CD burner, then click burn.
When it is done you will receive a message letting you know the burn process
has completed successfully. Take your newly created CD out and your done. I
hope this has helped you to understand CD burning. Now your ready to burn all
your files to CD’s.
