Windows Vista – Creating Your Own Quick Launch Bar
If you are new to computers a tool bar is the bar at the bottom of your screen
Which may look something like this.
The function of the tool bar is that when you open one or more programs it will put them in the tool bar for quick access, depending on how many programs you have open the tool bar may get pretty full.
The tool bar also doubles as a quick launch bar, where you can put icons of your favorite programs for quick access. The problem is that if you put to many programs in the quick launch bar then you have to click a little arrow to access the rest of your programs.
Ok that is the basics of the quick launch bar and the tool bar, now we will show you how to create your own quick launch bar and drag and drop your favorite programs to it.
First right click on an empty area of your desktop, now choose new, at the top of the menu you will see folder click on it.

A new folder will appear on the desktop, using your right mouse button click on the folder and choose rename, this can be anything you want it to be and will be the name of the quick launch bar. Now using your left mouse button click and hold down your mouse button on the folder and drag it to the top of your screen, once you are at the very top of your screen let go of your mouse button.
Ok you just created your own quick launch bar, now it looks pretty wide, all you have to do is move your mouse to the bottom edge until your mouse turns into a double arrow then hold your left mouse button down and drag your mouse up and that will make your bar skinner. Now all that is left to do is add your favorite programs, to do that just click on your start button, select all programs, find the programs you want to add and highlight them, holding down your left mouse button then drag them up to your quick launch bar and let go of your mouse button and your done. One more thing, if you right click in an empty area of your quick launch bar a menu will appear with options you can choose like view, show text, auto hide etc. Hope this is useful and have fun with it.
