Windows Vista – Gadgets are Displayed Incorrectly
When you start Windows Vista and your gadgets are displayed incorrectly,
like the color is all black or all white, this may be caused by the
xml registration being corrupt or missing. To fix this problem you will
have
to use an elevated command prompt, which means you will have to run
the command prompt as an administrator.
To run an elevated command prompt click the start button, then choose
all programs and then click accessories, at the top of the list you will
see command prompt. Now right click on it and choose run as administrator
your command prompt window will open.
Click on Image for Larger View
At the command prompt type the following commands pressing enter
after each command. After each command you will receive a message dllregisterserver
in (the file name you typed) succeeded.
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 scrrun.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
Now close the command prompt window by clicking on the x in the
top right corner. Now start the Window Sidebar by clicking on the start
button and in the search box type sidebar, in the search results double
click on Windows Sidebar and that’s all there is to it.
